I was a bit skeptical about a lamp doing double duty, but the switch from a tall floor light to a compact table version is surprisingly smooth. It's now my go-to for late-night knitting, the focused beam hitting exactly where I need it without lighting up the whole room.
The focused beam is bright enough to keep my knitting stitches crisp without washing out the whole room, and I love that I can drop it down to table height when I switch to a puzzle. Took me a minute to find the switch placement, but now it's muscle memory and it's sturdy as anything.
Used mine for a weekend of painting miniatures and the concentrated light never wavered, even when I moved it from the floor to the tabletop. Swapping between the two modes takes a second and it feels solid enough to last.
